The collaboration between our School of Management and Aalto University is structured as a dual degree arrangement. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive two credentials: 1. An official EMBA degree awarded by National Central University (recognized by Taiwan's Ministry of Education);2. An EMBA diploma issued by the Aalto University School of Business. The EMBA diploma from Aalto is a professional credential conferred by the School of Business, widely respected in the international business community. However, according to Finnish national education law and Taiwan’s Ministry of Education regulations, this diploma differs in nature from a national academic degree (academic master’s degree) and is not classified as a national academic master's degree. It is therefore important to clarify the role and function of Aalto University Executive Education Ltd (Aalto EE) in its collaboration with NCU, as well as the status of the EMBA diploma it awards.
Aalto University has designated and authorized Aalto University Executive Education Ltd (Aalto EE) to operate and deliver the MBA, Executive MBA (EMBA), and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs offered by the Aalto University School of Business. Aalto EE is a wholly owned legal entity under the Aalto University Group, and according to Section 63 of the Universities Act, universities in Finland may establish subsidiary companies. These companies operate under the supervision of Aalto University as stipulated by law. Aalto EE functions as the continuing education unit of Aalto University. Aalto University was established in 2009 by the Ministry of Education through the merger of three previously independent Finnish universities. The EMBA program was originally managed by the Helsinki School of Economics, one of the three predecessor institutions. After the formation of Aalto University, and given its public funding status, all commercially based educational programs (including EMBA activities) were entrusted to Aalto EE. Aalto EE now fully manages EMBA programs, including the proposed Aalto–NCU EMBA.
The Board of Studies of the Aalto University School of Business supports the development and quality assurance of programs delivered by Aalto EE. The Board holds authority over academic policy, curriculum review, quality assurance, and all academic matters, exercising its responsibilities in accordance with its mandate and regulations.
The Aalto EMBA is a professional diploma program designed for senior executives. It differs from traditional academic master's degrees within the Finnish higher education framework. While not part of Finland's national degree system, the program is equivalent in rigor and quality to internationally recognized MBA and EMBA programs. The program has earned the Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA)—a distinction achieved by only about 1% of business schools worldwide. The EMBA diploma issued by the Aalto University School of Business is therefore a highly valuable credential in Europe and globally across business and industry. Importantly, the EMBA diploma awarded through the Aalto–NCU dual degree program is identical to the EMBA diploma that any student would receive upon completing the program directly at Aalto University in Finland.
